Your wedding day is such a fun, special, beautiful day. Once in a lifetime, something you will always remember, the day you marry the man or the woman of your dreams.
But there’s something I have learned from photographing weddings: it is a long day, there are a lot of things to tick off as you go, a lot of things to remember, plenty of people to talk to, lots of walking, talking, laughing. It’s fun…and it’s tiring too. It’s a long day for a photographer and it is a long day for you too.
So you need to be prepared, physically, mentally, so that you can last the whole day without it becoming an exhausting marathon. Here are a few tips to help you:
* don’t forget to eat something before the ceremony (and after)
* drink plenty of water
* remember to take little breaks and breathe
* bring a spare set of comfortable shoes for when you have your photos taken after the ceremony. You may have to walk some distance to get to that beautiful spot…and back.
* let your photographer be your brain – they will know what comes next, what time you have to get back to the reception, the photos that must be taken.
* enjoy the ride, go with the flow, relax, and most important of all: have fun.
